Finn’s screen credits include The Raftsmen (SFF 2025), The Platypus Guardian (ABC/PBS), I’m So Sorry for Your Loss (ABC), and Moonbird (SBS/NITV). He was awarded the 2025–26 Brian May Scholarship to undertake a Master of Screen Scoring at the USC Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles. He previously received Music Australia’s 2024 Export Development Grant and the 2023 Screenworks/AiF Regional Screen in LA Scholarship.
In addition to composing, Finn co-founded the Tasmanian Media Composers Collective and serves as a board member of the not-for-profit Apple Box Studio, both dedicated to growing Tasmania’s vibrant creative community and raising the profile of Tasmanian talent within the broader screen industry.
Finn’s eclectic musical background includes playing violin in orchestras and folk bands, and shredding electric violin in a dubstep duo. He later studied classical composition at the UTAS Conservatorium of Music and has freelanced for several years as a location sound recordist (Deadloch, Bay of Fires, Muster Dogs). These experiences inform a musical style that blends classical melodicism, minimalist structures, creative sound design, and folk traditions.
In his spare time, Finn enjoys hiking, windsurfing, and patting cats.
